What I Learned at Social Brand Forum 2015

This past Thursday and Friday, I was so lucky to be able to attend Social Brand Forum in my college town, Iowa City.

What is Social Brand Forum?

If you haven’t heard of it, that’s a shame! Social Brand Forum is a premiere social media conference that takes place every Fall in Iowa City. Nick Westergaard is the man behind the event and digital agency Brand Driven Digital. Social Brand Forum attracts top digital marketing thought leaders, even though it’s not one of the biggest conferences in the most easy to access area.

In the last blog post I wrote for my previous company, I talked about the social events that can most help your business, and featured this specific conference. Nick reached out and offered me a pass to go, being a long-time supporter and fan of this event. The only problem was transportation (I don’t have a car – too annoying as a city-dweller) and a place to stay (most of my Iowa City friends have graduated!).

Once I got the logistics figured out (thanks to my mom lending me her car and a friend’s mom for taking me in), I was on my way and so excited… it wouldn’t be my first Social Brand Forum experience.

I won’t get into too much detail about the event, because I have notes to share at the end of this post that summarize all the best knowledge I gained. Instead, I’ll say that I learned a lot and met some amazing social marketers.

Can’t wait to see what Social Brand Forum has in store for next year!
